The Division houses the Department's domestic violence officer who reviews all domestic violence incidents that occur in the City to ensure the safety of the victim.

CID personnel also teach classes to other officers, Communications and Records personnel, the Department's auxiliary and reserve officers, the Citizen and Teen Police Academies and to the area's senior citizens under a number of different programs.

BTPD MISSING AND/OR WANTED PERSONS

TIPS Line

CID TIPS line was set up to allow people to report instances of suspicious or criminal activity without the need to reveal their identity.

The TIPS line is accessed by calling (423) 764-TIPS (764-8477).  All callers may remain anonymous if they wish, callers who identify themselves may be eligible for a reward should the information they provide result in an arrest.

Police need your help to solve crimes, arrest criminals, recover stolen property and seize illegal drugs.  That's why the TIPS line is offered.

The amount of a reward varies depending on factors such as the number and severity of crimes solved and the value of recovered property.

The TIPS line is answered during normal business hours.  If no one is available to answer your call, please leave a message on the voice mail.

All TIPS will be investigated by officers of the Criminal Investigations Division or forwarded to the proper agency for follow up.

TIPS line callers who wish to remain anonymous will never have their identity revealed.
